I was told to write a poem for my English class over the break and this is what I came up with, It’s not the best but I think it’s alright!

I am from many places that have shaped who I am,

From Nike shorts and Hollister pants.

I am from my mom’s multiple homes,

Where I played kick the can and candyland,

Where I felt the dirt on my hands.

I am from the trees in the yard,

The trees that made me look so small and feel so big.

I’m from a thanksgiving feast and playing on the beach,

I’m from my aunts and uncles, mom and dads.

I’m from long car rides and watching Christmas lights,

From “Don’t just settle” and “You can always do better.”

I’m from a God almighty,

For he who believes will have a never ending life.

I’m from a French and Indian decent,

Crawfish boils and shrimp.

From the father buried six feet under,

To the raising by a single mother.

I’m from constantly changing faces,

From a family reunited,

From a God almighty.

I am from many places.

So we talk more, but you seem disconnected. I find myself thinking about you all the time. Thinking of that smile, and those eyes. I find myself thinking of us and how we used to be, and what we will be. Love you always <3

So I haven’t been on here in forever, but I know it’s the one play that I can be completely honest. I have a new girlfriend but I’m still in love with someone else. I have told her everything there is to tell, except recently, we haven’t talked much. I hope that changes. She is so beautiful and I don’t know what I would do without her. I love you E.N.H. <3
